Avid is understood to be planning to announce a new version of its Media Composer editing system. The company, however, is not commenting. At the International Broadcasting Convention in September, Avid presented technical demonstrations of future tools for Media Composer, including support for the DNxHD 4:4:4 format, new 3D capabilities, and closer integration with Avid's audio postproduction system ProTools.
